123 Science Mystery Lab Report
Research:
Before this lab I learned many things. I learned baking soda is a chemical salt with a scientific term written as NaHC03. It is also a bicarbonate of soda. I also learned, corn starch is used as a thickener and is made from the endosperm of corn, powdered sugar is granulated into a fine powder and used to make smooth icings, water is a ubiquitous chemical substance, vinegar is produced by the oxidation of alcohol in wine or cider and is a diluted acetic acid, and that iodine solution is for killing bacteria and is made from iodine and potassium iodide.
Hypothesis: I predict baking soda with vinegar and iodine solution will create a chemical change, and powdered sugar with iodine solution will be a chemical change too. The rest of the combinations I predicted that they would be physical changes.
Procedure:
1. Place a small amount of each white powder in the well plate. Each powder will fill three wells. (Make sure to remember where you put each substance.)
2. Drop 3 or 4 drops of water in the well containing Mystery Powder 1. Write down observations in a table like the one below:

Make a note to tell if there was a physical or chemical change.
3. Drop 3 or 4 drops of vinegar into the second well containing Mystery Powder 1. Write down your observations.
4. Drop 3 or 4 drops of iodine solution into the third well containing Mystery Powder 1. Write down your observations.
Political Science KGA 9/10/2013 Political Science Project 1 KGA 9//10/2013 Fascism Communism Socialism Democratic Philosophy: No single philosophy. The state must gain glory through constant conquest, aka war. Belief that the past was glorious, and that the State can be renewed. Free-access to the articles of consumption is made possible by advances in technology that allow for super-abundance Emphasis on profit being distributed among the society…
unwarranted resources given to glamour theories that promise to produce universal laws governing the behavior of everything. The pernicious effects of the belief in the single universal rule of law and the single scientific system are spread across the sciences. Indeed, a good many physicists right now are in revolt. Superstring theory is the new candidate for a theory of everything…The theory consumes resources and efforts that could go into the hundreds of other enterprises in physics that ask different…
Anthony Soluren Mark Tallman Human Conflict 1 May 2012 Future Conflict: Friend or Foe From the beginning of civilization to the modern times of society, conflict has flourished with no sense of extinction. Violence has created and generally solved many problems for individuals or benefitted a larger group. Fighting for resources has been the most common strategy for earlier civilizations dating back thousands of years ago. In modern times, conflict is created by two individuals who do not like…
Forensic Science Introduction Within this paper the author will explain what DNA is, describe how it used and discuss the ethical issues surrounding the idea of having a national database. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the hereditary material in all humans and almost all other living organisms. Nearly every cell in a person’s body has the same DNA however no two people have the same DNA make-up. Most DNA can be found in a cell nucleus. (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/handbook/basics/dna) DNA was first…
Population Growth: potentially be biggest factor there is. Earths pop is going through exponential increase. Large # of people on earth. How many peoplw will we be able t put on earth? World pop: 7.05 people. Growth rate 2.2% 94 million/year us pop size: 309 mill. Population size(n) Population change=births + immigration –deaths+emigration -birth rate and death rate whenever birth rate greater, we have increase zero pop growth? Developed contries have lowest pop growth rates, developing…

zero, and un-balanced forces have a net force that isn’t zero. These forces have the ability to affect motion. They do this by using the force of pushing or pulling to move an object, changing its motion, making it move in a certain direction. An example of this is if someone was to push on the right side of a desk with a net force of 25 while another person is pushing on the left side of the desk with a net force of 5, the desk would move to the left since the higher force on the right over powers…
Science is the principle of logic; it is solidified facts. There is no room for faith or spirituality. Religion formulates answers without proof to find deeper meanings to life’s questions. It is the unification of people, rather than proven truth. These two communities have both obtained massive followings, and have practically divided the world’s population into two separate belief systems. The film Contact addresses this rivalry by exploring the power of faith, and what humankind will do to protect…
Mr. Blake Ocean science 12/11/14 1. This article is in the science field of biology because it talks about the human body and how diseases can be cured. 2. A non-surgical injection of programmable biomaterial that assembles into a 3-D structure could fight and prevent cancer and infectious disease like HIV. Biodegradable structures made from silica, can be loaded with biological and chemical drug components and then delivered by needle. 3. Two of the most interesting things are “cancer is so deadly…
Surrey Human Performance Institute – Surrey Sports Park On Monday, 22nd of April 2013 the Sports Science pupils travelled to the Surrey Human Performance Institute in Guildford to perform various laboratory and field tests relating to Topic 6 in the course: Measuring Performance. We were fortunate enough to have a lecture and presentation on what VO2 max testing is and how to measure it as well as Lactate Threshold. As there was not enough time Moritz Ehmer (a student in grade 10 keen on taking…
