A: Wake up, it's time for school.
B: I'm so tired. Let me sleep for five more minutes.
A: You have to get up and get ready for school.
B: I know, but just five more minutes.
A: I can't let you go back to sleep, because you won't wake back up.

Teenagers need an average of 10 hour of sleep each night. Students who do get 10 hours of sleep have better concentration levels and higher standardized test scores. Also, intend to have fewer accidents. One study says that teens most likely have accidents because of sleep; they usually fall asleep while driving then alcohol. 7 to 8 hours of sleep is average for everyone but growing kids need 8 to 10 hours of sleep in order to learn better and even function better. Getting enough sleep enhances your memory and learning skills.
Effects of not enough sleep
Constantly, if you are not getting enough sleep, you start to forget things, have a hard time remembering things, your process of learning slows down, you get annoyed really easily, you get irritable and fidgety, get stressed over little things, and you might be more vulnerable to colds and flu. Neuroscientists, a scientist specializes in the study of the brain, says sleep affects a lot in the growth of the brain. Not sleeping causes mental disorders including depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, as well as head injury. Mark Mahowald, a professor of
