Dear Parent/Guardian,
The following trip has been planned by the students as part of their studies:
Visit: Burrs Country Park – Outward Bound Day/Team Building
Cost: £26.00 per student (required by 15th February 2012)
Departs: 8.45am from the Town Centre Campus by Coach
Returning: 5.00pm to the Town Centre Campus
All Btec Extended National Diploma students are required to attend this event as a key aspect of two of their current units.; Exploring Team Development and Organising an Event. The students themselves have organised this event and will participate in a full day of team development and team building activities.
The cost of the trip will cover the coach travel to and from the event, it will pay for the use of the facilities at Burrs and includes trained instructors to support every activity on the day. The students will participate in a range of wet and dry activities which will encourage team participation and allow them to explore their own roles in a team. Students have been assigned roles in the organisation and booking of this event, this will allow them to collect evidence for their events management unit.
It is strongly recommended that students wear suitable old clothing and footwear for the occasion and bring spare items to change into following the wet activities. It is vital that every Business student attends this event; the experiences and evidence gained here is required to achieve their unit 18 and 19 assignment grades.

in the cockpit of an airplane, I knew that I wanted to fly. Not only has my own research and experience guided me to my goals, but also my father and grandfather provided me inspiration. Purdue University will help me to my goal by giving me the experience and opportunities for becoming an airline pilot. Aviation has always been a passion of mine and by gaining admission to Purdue University, I am seeking to attend a university that will give me the most opportunities to become a commercial airline…
Lord of the Flies In the book Lord of the Flies, there are many different symbols that represent many different things. And everyone interprets them differently. What one person thinks could mean something, someone else could take it a totally different way than that person did. So I’m going to be writing about the three symbols that stood out to me most, and what they mean to me. And the first of the most important symbols, in my opinion, in Lord of the Flies is the object which gave the…

within even the first five minutes of stepping outside, I found that nature was all around me if I paid attention. First, a huge fly started flying all around me; I fought the urge to swat it away so that I can watch it. It landed on the edge of the table I was sitting at, and its legs twitched furiously. I stayed as still as I could as it crept closer. Although it was too small to tell, it seemed to be watching me with its red eyes. I don’t know a lot about a fly’s anatomy, but I know they have multiple…
by fearful flyers, plus what I’ve been able to pass along to them to help worry less, or even not at all. If you know someone who is afraid to fly, share this with them–it might help. If you have concerns about flying, share them with me. I want to be able to help you and the countless others who’d like to fly–or have partners or family who wish they’d fly–to understand what not to worry about when it comes to flying. So rather than dismissing the fears of white-knuckle flyers by saying, “There’s nothing…
lot of things have inspired me and various events have astonished me a lot. The dirt, the must, and the flies, so nasty!I came with my family and friends. In the bus, I glared around the sight, dogs, chickens, cats everywhere. I would never yearn for a bucolic life of a farmer. “Mom, what are we doing here?” “We are having our lunch!” “Seriously?” Two short wooden circular tables and few red plastic chairs were set. The dishes were ready and the repulsive of flies flying on it were burning…
chafing with her shores, Caesar said to be “Dar’st thou, Cassius, now Leap in with me into this angry flood, And swim to yonder point?” Upon the word, Account’red as I was, I plunged in And bade him follow: so indeed he did. The torrent roared, and we did buffet it With lusty sinews, throwing it aside And stemming it with hearts of controversy. But ere we could arrive the point proposed, Caesar cried “Help me, Cassius, or I sink!” I, as Aeneas, our great ancestor, Did from the flames of Troy…
work GENERAL DESCRIPTION: In this project, we will use a strain of fruit flies that has a P element inserted between two genes: CG33786 and DMAP1. We are interested in DMAP1 because it encodes a protein that is part of a complex that binds to DNA and we suspect it may be involved in gene regulation. I will post some papers about this gene in the “resources” module. There is not very much known about it in flies. Most of the work involves mammalian cell culture. When P elements attempt to…
way, helping us build who we are today. Such can be said about my own life; for a person that is only twenty years old, I faced a lot of different experiences in my life, I had big moments of struggle and also happiness, but the moments that marked me more were the difficult times. So, reading the story “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” from Gabriel Márquez, I could make a relation between my life and the principal character the “Angel.” This relation is not about the text itself or the plot,…
Maneet Sandhu Mrs. Mitroussis ENG 2D April 24, 2015 Lord of the Flies Essay Identity defines a person and their nature. William Golding displayed this nature in the novel, “The Lord of the Flies”. The boys go through many problematic situations, which lead them to behave in a manner that has been never witnessed before. The boys change. The new environment alters the way they act and think. These factors change their identity and who they really are. As identity slips, fate alters one’s mind and…
