How was your understanding of cultural and contextual considerations of Perfume developed through the IAO?

Through the IAO, my understanding of Perfume has extended. The topics brought up through the IAO gave better understanding to such as why the author wrote the book, why did Suskind wrote the novel in a certain time period, and etc. The presentations gave me a better understanding of the time period jog the novel. Multiple presentations many topics and events came up, much was going on in the time period of the book, and Grenouille has not realized what has gone on in the world around him. In relation, 18th century France was a period of
Enlightenment. Suskind brought readers into the book and put them in the place of the people in that time, which was brought through Grenouille. The story of Grenouille gave readers a feel of what was happening at the time and how situations were dealt. New thinkers came out of this period of enlightenment. During this time a writer has gained fame from in way of writing but he was a killer, making him similar to Grenouille’s character because he was also a gifted abomination. Grenouille was like every other thinker in his generation. He wanted to create his new way of making perfumes, just like certain figures of 18th century France.
