Specific Purpose: To inform you about diabetes and the type’s diabetes
Introduction:
There is something in the world that people are senseless for. It’s something that we just couldn’t live without and we always want more of it. That is the sweet taste of sugar whether it’s in the form of a candy bar, cake, and ice cream. Although that sweet taste that we all loves can’t be consumed by everybody. These people that I am talking about are myself and other like me. Some diabetics cannot have any sugar or very little. Imagine what you would do, if you had to watch every little thing that you eat. That is what diabetics have to do to survive. I am going to speak to you today about the different types of diabetes, how diabetics take cares of them, and about the future of diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that affects how the body uses glucose, the main type of sugar in the blood.

Body:
I. Today I will inform you about the 2 types of diabetes Type 1 and Type 2.
A. 1. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body immune system attacks and destroys certain cells in the pancreas. Type 1 diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes because the onset of this is type usually only happens to younger people such as children, teenagers and young adults. Although, there have been cases where adults have been diagnosed which type 1 diabetes. This type of diabetes happens with the beta cell in the pancreas which stops producing insulin. Insulin is what the body products to turn food into energy. Glucose comes from the foods we eat and is the major source of energy needed to fuel the body function. Every year in the United States, 13,000 children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and more than 1 million American kids and adults deal with the disease every day. For this reasons, people with type 1 diabetes must take insulin in order to stay alive. This means undergoing from 2 to 3 injections a day. Or have insulin delivered through an insulin pump and test your blood sugar by pricking their fingers at least six times a day.
