Industrialization Beginning around the early 1870’s a new mark in United States history began changing everything from the way people lived, the rules that lived by and the grounds they lived on. Industrialization applied to all areas of the world’s spectrum first by making social and economic changes that mark the transition from a constant agriculture and commercial society to a modern industrial society due to the change of using complex machinery rather than simple tools. Industrialization also effected changes in some ways the economic, political and social organization as well. These effects increased worldwide trade, political and social changes that allowed increase within the working class, as well as the surfacing of new way of business and power.
The industrialization era was not all about the production of the working class and its machinery. It was about new starts, changing governments, and better lives. Immigration played a big role in this era by allowing many immigrants to come to America for better job opportunities and a better way of life. The beginning of their new lives may have been no different from their former living conditions. Slums (government housing) were built for immigration families that allowed them a place to lie their heads while searching for job opportunities. While these immigration families moved into many parts of the rural areas many of the native residents where moving out and into the cities to find better job opportunities, leaving behind their entire farms. Before the Industrial Revolution most all of America’s type of economy lied in the fields of agriculture. Agriculture today revolves around million dollar tractors and irrigation systems. Equipment that allows pushing and on and off button to be the only type of physical labor, but up until the 1870’s any type of agriculture work was done completely by hand and was consider to be hard labor. The invention of the steam engine was not considered a fully hands free machine but it was the closest product to it at the time and was the average working farmers dream come true. The machine replaced labor power, a large portion of capital, and stretched the abilities of the economy. The steam engine allowed the economy to imagine on an even larger scale, which led them to begin the production of the railroad. In the end of the
