Love is powerful, love motivates you to succeed, love makes you stronger, and it makes you who you are in the Hunger Games. Katniss learned to use love as a way of motivating her, it gave her courage to fight, and the people around her helped her throughout the games. Peeta shows how much he loves Katniss for the reason he gave her bread when she was out in the freezing rain and could have died for that matter. "His attention back on the pigs, he threw a loaf of bread in my direction" Katniss says. He was willing to feed her even though he knows how much trouble he could get into, it goes to show you how much Peeta cares for Katniss, and she does not even realize. Katniss truly loves her sister and would do anything for her. During the reaping when Primrose Everdeens name was called out of the thousands of papers to be chosen by Effie Trinket it had to be Prims name. "I was blind in a tree…I started to fall and he caught me.”Katniss had no idea what just happened she is breathe less but the only words that could come out of her mouth were “I volunteer as tribute". I don’t think anyone would do that unless you really loved the person, Katniss knows Prim would not survive in the games, and maybe she would have a chance. She would herself rather be dead than Prim but she also knows her mother cannot take care of Prim on her own. “Prim is screaming hysterically behind me.
