During this week I chose to take a different approach to achieving the goals I set during class. I started to use the time sheet to manage the time I spend better. Instead of just relaxing in my room I decided to spend more time actually studying and reviewing my work for class. I also made sure to check my email on a regular basis to make sure I’m keeping up with my class work. It’ll take some getting use to but I know it will help me in the long run.
The tree goals I set more my self were to manage my time more effectively, study more, and spend more time reviewing my assignments. I’ve never really made a to-do list but it helps. It keeps me focused on what I need to do that way I don’t get side tracked. I need to study/read more because I have a lot of reading to do weekly for my classes and it never hurts to de a little extra reading. Also, reviewing my work after it is completed will allow me to make changes and correct the mistakes I’ve made.
From the time log sheet I found that I spend a lot of time just relaxing and hanging with hall mates when I could be doing schoolwork. I’ve learned that I have to change my daily routine to help me stay focused on my work. I go to the gym every week but I could always exercise more. The greatest trouble I have is socializing with new people and I could tell that from the time sheet. I need to work on my communication skill to help me feel more relaxed when socializing. But I understand
How the Increasing Poverty Effects Learning Brooke West Arkansas State University Fall 2014 Research Questions Poverty is an issue that many children are faced with, and these children are entering school with needs that some teachers are not prepared or equipped to meet. The school achieved academy status in August 2011 and as part of the ‘Academies Enterprise Trust’ the school works closely with other academies in the local area. Most pupils are from White British backgrounds, with the proportion…
Professional learning communities. Most educators have heard of them. Many school districts have initiated them (VandeWeghe & Varney, 2006; Wells, 2008). Professional learning communities (PLCs) are old news in the educational community, an idea that has been around for years. Like many initiatives in education that have come before it, it runs the risk of being pushed aside for newer, sexier initiatives (Dooner, Mandzuk, & Clinton, 2008; DuFour, 2004), guaranteed to promote learning and finally…

Improvement of Studies There are some areas in my life and school that has made a few changes, using some of the information from my Improvement of studies class. Prioritizing, persisting, and able to focus is some of the things that has helped me in these areas. In life we make choices and all of these choices reflect our future, we have to learn how to put what we need in front of what is wanted. Prioritizing is something that is very important, you have to know what to put first and in order…
SCHOOL UNIFORMS SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED. In my opinion students should not have to wear uniforms if they don’t laugh or treat other students bad. Should school uniforms be required? Some parents say yes but students say no. the reason why parents say yes is because sometimes the children get pick on a lot about how they wear they clothes and what they should wear. Others believe that kids should have the freedom to dress however they want. After strongly believe that uniforms should not be required…
question of how important is being technologically literate in this day and age? Should learning to be familiar with technological devices such as computers are considered as important as being skilled in the more established school subjects such as reading and math? Considering how important technology is becoming in our everyday lives as well as the workplace it would be logical to assume that becoming technologically literate should be just as a well established subject in schools as Math and…

Looking at the schooling of Indigenous people is important to understand how they were forced into the European education system. However, they also have their own education system and way of doing activities. In this paper, we will examine how the education system effects the Indigenous population within Canada during the twentieth century. The focus will also be on how Indigenous girls and women experienced education in the twentieth century. Women and girls experienced schooling differently because…
