This is another dangerous factor of homelessness, that people may harm you for no reason and that your life is always at risk from other homeless or mentally unstable people. Swindells shows both of these in ’Stone Cold’ first with the large scouser who takes Links watch and then with Shelter who attempts to kill Link. Throughout the novel we learn that Link has extremely bad luck firstly when he gets thrown out the house, all of his money gets taken by his landlord, his best friend goes missing, the girl he is in love with is actually just a reporter trying to get a story, and a man called Shelter attempts to kill him. From reading this novel I feel that most homeless people are just down on there luck and that we should try and help whenever we can. Because if Link had been given a chance by an employer his life would have turned out very differently.
