Karma
That there is consequence for every action.
Our actions and thoughts shape us into the people we become.
One difference is that with the text, it states karma has an effect on future experiences and that it shapes us into the individuals we are today or will become.
Reincarnation
When a being dies, its soul is, in a sense, reborn in another being.
The soul is reborn repeatedly as a way to become closer towards merging with an absolute reality.
The main difference is the nature in which a soul is reborn; the purpose. I assumed with reincarnation that the soul just passes on continuously to have everlasting life; instead it seems to be that it is the soul’s way of finding the absolute reality.
Yoga
It is more than a form of keeping healthy; my personal understanding of yoga is when a person tries to align his or her chakras.
Different paths that lead a person to a union with his or her true self.
I think that the main difference between popular usage and the actual definition is that there are different types of yoga that a person can use or achieve, rather than just aligning their inner self.
