Herpes is an infection caused by the Herpes simplex virus (HSV). HSV can cause sores around the mouth which is referred to as oral Herpes and another type of HSV can cause Herpes around the genital area which is referred to as genital Herpes. HSV -1 is oral Herpes and HSV-2 is genital Herpes. Both affect your body no matter which type you have. Herpes is the most common STD about one in four Americans has Herpes. Herpes spreads when you have physical contact with a person for example sharing food while having a breakout. Genital Herpes is always spread through sexual contact. Herpes can easily spread around the genitals. Herpes can also be spread through the mouth and sex organs during oral sex. People often transmit Herpes without even knowing it. Symptoms often occur two weeks after the infection but it’s always varies. Symptoms mostly include: sores, blisters, rash around genitals, pain or itching around genitals, butt, or legs, burning while urinating, swollen lymph nodes in the groin, fever, headache, and fatigue. The first outbreak lasts about two to four weeks. Some have very painful breakouts at first but others might not even notice any symptoms. After your infected breakouts can occur because of stress, diet, illness, menstruation, and sunburns. Herpes cannot be treated however there are drugs for the symptoms that occur once your infected. If you have Herpes you can avoid giving it to others by not having any vaginal, anal, or oral sexual contact when any symptoms are present not even with a condom. Sexual conduct can put your partner at a very high risk of being infected. How to avoid having Herpes just avoid any vaginal, oral, and anal sexual contact. If you don’t practice abstinence then make sure to use latex condoms. You should only have one sex partner. If your infected don’t have sex during a outbreak. Herpes can increase your risk of AIDS and HIV because of the open sores. A mother that has a breakout while labor can cause the baby with the infection unless she gets a cesarean birth. The statistics are very high around the world. Nationwide 16.2% of people have Herpes that’s about one in six people ranging from ages 14-49. Genital HSV-1 infection is more common in women 14-49 years of age than in men. One
