Heat Radiation
Aim: The aim of this experiment is to compare the radiation of heat by containers with shiny and dull surfaces when they contain hot water.
Hypothesis: The black can will lose heat radiation more rapidly than the shiny can.
Independent Variable: Shiny can and Black can
Dependent Variable: Temperature
Controlled Variables: Room temperature, the same person measuring the temperature, the amount of water, time
Materials and Equipment: * Cans (Shiny and Black) * Hot Water * Kettle * Two thermometers * Stopwatch
Procedure:
1. The hot water was poured into a 200mL beaker. 2. The hot water was poured into the shiny can and black can evenly. 3. The thermometers were placed in the cans and the temperature was measured. 4. The temperature was recorded every minute for fifteen minutes.

Results:
Table 1: Heat Radiation Time | Black can (°C) | Shiny can (°C) | 0 | 82 | 78 | 1 | 79 | 74 | 2 | 78 | 73 | 3 | 76 | 70.5 | 4 | 74.5 | 69 | 5 | 73 | 68 | 6 | 72 | 67 | 7 | 70.5 | 66 | 8 | 69.5 | 65 | 9 | 68 | 64.5 | 10 | 67 | 63.5 | 11 | 66 | 63 | 12 | 65 | 63 | 13 | 64 | 61 | 14 | 63 | 60.5 | 15 | 63 | 60.5 |

Discussion:
Differences/Trends: The black can lost heat radiation more rapidly than the shiny can and the heat radiation changed from 82°C to 63°C in 15 minutes. The silver can lost heat radiation from 78°C to 60.5°C in 15 minutes.
Reliability of results: The results are reliable as the same person was taking the temperature as the same person recorded the time. The same amount of water was put in the cans so
