Reflection questions Explain the vision of the “real Australia” you have represented in your text and the challenge to, or use of stereotypes within your representation? In my advertisement I have expressed my vision of Australia through, beaches, Great Barrier Reef, the outback etc. The vision of the “real Australian” I have represented is about the Australian values within society so it would enhance the advertisement of Australia so that overseas people would travel and explore the nation of Australia and enjoy their experience. The first thing to mistrust should be an American thinking of going to Australia for the first time. My advertisement conveys the stereotype that all Australian is not a place with beautiful tanned people with blonde hair and blue eyes but rather a multicultural society. I conveyed a common stereotype by using an image of a beach with a kangaroo standing representing Australia, as it is typical yet famous beaches in Australia to express the notion that beach life is a important understanding of Australia culture as many Australian go to the beach on hot days, have BBQ, lay down, have fun etc. Evaluate the effectiveness of your choice of elements (visual images, graphics, music, dialogue) and the impact on the audience. In the advertisement I have created, I have included visual images, relevant music and a slogan that portray Australia as a country. Some example of Images incorporate in my advertisement is a beach with a kangaroo standing since it represents Australia because everyone’s love and respect for the beach is strong and has been from the beginning. Beaches are accessible to everyone, whether people from overseas come and enjoy the noise of crashing waves, enjoy a game of cricket, laze in the sun or a having fun with their friends and families. The kangaroo represents how Australia is unique which makes everyone wants to come to Australia and see the kangaroo. This technique is effective because it attracts the audience that Australia is a bright and fun continent to have a vacation, especially summer months. In my advertisement I use some catchy slogan. Some examples from my advertisement video are “Are you ready to come to Australia?” This slogan is a rhetorical question, as it wants to catch people from overseas attention, since Australia is a very fun, adventurous country to explore and have fun. This technique is effective and has an impact on the audience because it wants to get the message across to the people
