Going on a job interview is an extremely difficult process that requires preparation, practice and skill. Three ways in which I can be better prepared for a job interview is by first researching the company's profile and background. Conducting the interview with this in mind will make me seem like a good long-term investment. Also, I’ll be ready to talk in depth about the industry, the organization, and the position I am applying for. The second way I can help myself be prepared is by practicing the job interview with a peer. Not only will this give me a way to structure my preparation, but it will also help me get comfortable with giving answers, telling anecdotes, and using appropriate terminology. The last way that would help me prepare for a job interview is by coming up with questions of my own to ask the interviewer because at the end of the interview I’ll be asked what questions I have. Good questions at this stage are clarifying questions about the role itself and open-ended questions about the office culture. If I follow these 4 steps, I’m sure to notice a significant improvement in how well I perform in job interviews.
