Globalization (or globalisation) is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of culture. Advances in transportation and telecommunications infrastructure, including the rise of the telegraph and its posterity the Internet, are major factors in globalization, generating further interdependence of economic and cultural activities.
Firstly, I think globalization is a double edge. I mean it proves the increase of economy of the world and international trade and international investment, meanwhile, it also has a sort of negative influences. Our topic is the globalization to the poverty, I will express my opinion based on this topic. Most of developing countries are enjoyed, they are standing on the edge and facing more challenge and risks. As we all remember that Thailand opens the financial market and withdraw all the protected measure prematurely and excessively under the pressure of economic globalization and liberalization, which causes financial crisis. Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad think that the developing countries lose their independence in globalization that make the developing countries to worse and the developed to more rich. United Nations Development Programme published a report that shows globalization make majority of people to become poorer. According to the data from the The United Nations shows that the number of least developed countries have been increasing, in 1990 was 36, in 1998 was 42, in 2000 the figure has increased to 48. many least developed countries did not make any benefits from the globalization.
However, in theory, the globalization can release the poverty. Firstly, free trade can decline the price of intermediate good and improve the technology to promote the production, which can stimulate the economy. Secondly, the foreign companies bring the technology increase the production of the host country and financial market and credit market, which drives the development of the fiancé.
