To blame humans or not to blame humans for global warming, that is the question. Reports have noted that eleven out of the last twelve years have ranked among the warmest on record. CNN has stated that temperature changes have been noticed over the last 50 years, due to human activities. Yes, humans are to blame for global warming because of population growth, deforestation, and the use of non-environmentally safe products. This world wide issue must be addressed! The increase in population has had a major affect of global warming. With more population comes the use of more cars, boats, planes, and other motorized vehicles. These powered engines cause more carbon dioxide to enter the air. Many people are acknowledging that we need to make a change in our way of living, but more vehicles are releasing enormous amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. “Most global increases are rare due to increases in carbon dioxide from fossil fuels,” says CNN. Did you know that aviation causes 3.5 percent of global warming? This seems like a little amount but, if you think of all the times planes depart and land per day it really adds up. Then, when there is traffic on the ground and vehicles are at a stand-still, they can use up to six hundred million gallons of gas, while just sitting in traffic. This is common in many cities, worldwide. The amount of fossil fuels that are burned during traffic translates to 7.5 million tons of carbon dioxide. Vehicles with poor gas mileage contribute to that number even more than regular cars. Imagine that all the transportation that occurs throughout the day keeps increasing as the population increases. There will be so much emission of carbon dioxide that temperatures will increase dramatically. We need to lower the transportation rates in order for our economy to avoid suffering. So many people are in the world and the number is increasing daily; 9,538,988,263 is a large number of people with many already driving. Deforestation has had and still continues to be a driving force on global warming. Too many trees are being cut down. In the Amazon Rainforest, within twenty-six years it went from a dense thick layer of green forest, to an empty looking wasteland. When trees are cut down, the process of photosynthesis can’t take place, therefore; large amounts of carbon dioxide are left in the air, and there is less oxygen. These CO2 bonds interfere with the CO3 ones in the ozone. Global warming is greatly affected by deforestation due to the increase in green house gasses it causes. Millions of acres are being cut down each day. In fact, some of these acres happen to be the size of Italy. When the trees have fallen or have been burned, carbon dioxide enters the air. With our actions we are losing temperate forests. Temperate forest are good to keep around because the serve a major role in reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. These forests absorb two billion tons of carbon dioxide on their own. Deforestation is the second major principle that causes global warming. Humans further global warming by also using non-environmentally safe products. We use things such as hairsprays and candles which are aerosols. Aerosols have been forming holes in the ozone layer for years. “We need to use more environmentally friendly technologies,” acknowledged former President Bush. For instance, a hybrid car mainly runs on sunlight, not oil. This way it is not burning fossil fuels. Aerosols that are
Global Warming Paper Cameron Conolly For years many people have believed that we are causing the Earth to warm up faster. Global Warming is the heating of the climate. Others believe it is due to natural climate processes. Either way, we know that Global Warming is a serious issue for our Earth. One of the reasons we think Global Warming is occurring is because of Orbital Variations. “Orbital Variations” is part of a theory developed by Milutin Milkankovic. An astonishing fact about Milankovic…
Global Warming Jenny Mallory Argosy University Rise of Modern Science Following years of debate publicly on whether global warming is due to natural activities or is the result of mankind, evidence suggests that extreme climate and weather changes are caused by humans. Over the years, the earths’ climate has wavered many times, from periods of record breaking heat to the ice ages. Changes in the sun’s force and the earths’ course around it, along with natural elements such as; erupting volcanos…
SPC 1016 November 06, 2008 Specific purpose: To convince my audience that global warming does exist and we can help put a stop to it. Introduction I. What would you do if someone tells you that the foundation of your home is sinking? Would you try and fix it or would you let it sink slowly? II. Today, I am going to help you recognize that global warming does exist, we are the main cause and we can do something to stop this. III. It is important we all know this because before we know…
GLOBAL WARMING: NATURAL OR MAN-MADE There is no question that there is an increase in Earth’s temperature and we are experiencing what is referred to as global warming. The Earth has experienced this many times in history on a much larger scale, but, humans did not exist (and would not have been able to exist) at the time. The questions now are whether human actions are accelerating the process of global warming and possibly decreasing Earth’s future sustainability; and, if so, what, if anything…
Global Warming and the Threat on the Existence of Life on Earth Lise Scott AIU OnlineAbstract Global warming is a very complex subject with much debate involved with the subject. Although some people do not see global as a threat to all life on Earth, it is a very serious problem, because of warming temperatures including the melting of the polar ice caps and ice sheets, extreme weather patterns, including tornados and hurricanes. If the human race do not curb the problems of carbon emissions…
Global Warming Global Warming has become quite an alarming issue in the past decade. Although most people don’t find it directly affecting their everyday lives. This is the reason not much is being done about it. Some people are in complete denial of this phenomenon, while others are positive it is happening. I personally, believe global warming is happening. My argument is to prove global warming exists. It exists because of society’s everyday habits to use natural resources at an increasing rate…
Global Warming Real or Fake? Global warming is the slow increase of the temperature of Earth’s atmosphere. It is caused by the greenhouse effect which is caused by the increasing levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants. Another thing that is causing global warming is methane from agriculture and animals. Also the increase of chemical fertilizers contributes to global warming. Chemical fertilizers are nitrogen rich. Nitrogen oxides have 300 more times the heat trapping capacity…
GLOBAL WARMING Global warming, also called climate change, has become a topic of concern over the past decade. Climate has changed drastically over the past decade, “From 2001 through Feb, 2011 the atmospheric carbon dioxide increased by 22.2% of the total increase from 1800 to 2001” (Pangburn). Although I wasn’t completely aware of global warming and it’s circumstances until recently, I can honestly say that it is a issue to be concerned about. Global Warming is an indisputable…

What Are the Causes of Global Warming? What is global warming? According to NASA Earth Observatory, global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released as people burn fossil fuels. Global warming is the warming near the earth's surface that results when the earth's atmosphere traps the sun's heat. The earth is getting warmer. The changes are small, so far, but they are expected to grow and speed…
