From 1965 to 1985
Gatorade was developed in 1965 by a team of scientists at the University of Florida
The name of Gatorade is a reference to the Gators, the University of Florida football team
The goal of those scientists was to help the Florida players improve their performance in sweltering heat and stay hydrated
The original version of the beverage was a mixture of water, sodium, phosphate, and then lemon juice
From 1965 to 1985 (continued)
The players tested it during practices and games and they began to win
Word about Gatorade began to spread outside of the state of Florida and quickly gained national interest
For nearly 20 years Gatorade consisted of a single product line: Gatorade Thirst Quencher
From 1985 to now
Starting 1988 to late 1990s other flavors, such as watermelon, cherry rush, strawberry kiwi, and so on, became available
In 1998 Gatorade switched to plastic containers to get the drink into new environments
By the end of 2000, Gatorade was already available in 47 countries In 2001 PepsiCo acquired Gatorade for $13 billion
From 1985 to now (continued)
By 2010 Gatorade products reached more than 85 countries including China and Russia
In 2010, the company re-branded itself around the G Series
As of today, Gatorade accounts for about 80 percent market share in the sports drink category
It is the official sport drink of the NBA, NFL, Major
League Baseball, Major League Soccer, and other professional organizations and teams around the world

Florida 33966 USA Abstract: The purpose of this project was to test whether, water or Gatorade is most effective when trying to maintain a lower heart rate after exercising. The hypothesis suggested that when testing this Gatorade would be the most effective drink when trying to maintain a lower heart rate after working out. To begin, supplies were gathered and put to use; a circular 8 oz. measuring cup, which is, 236.59mL, two 64 oz. bottles of Gatorade, 4 16 oz. bottles of water, a 16 oz. colored…
Project 4 Food Dye Analysis Rong Zhang CHM2045-010 04/16/2014 U86192398 Introduction: Our objective for this lab was to find the concentration of three separate dyes in three different products. This is important because some dyes can be dangerous at high concentrations. The concentration was found through the use of a spectrophotometer to measure the amount of light absorbed; the amount absorbed can be related to the concentration of the dye. By making a calibration curve for each…
the accuracy of this method. Hypothesis: How well does the sweet taste of a drink correlate with the amount of sugar it contains? By tasting several drinks, I predicted the relative sugar content in the following drinks: Dr. Pepper, Coke, Gatorade, Apple Juice, and Grape Juice. (Rank the drinks from 1, highest sugar content, to 5, lowest sugar content.) Procedure: 1. I placed a clean dry plastic weighting boat on the balance and hit zero to take away the mass of the weighing boat. This was…
Temperature affect resistivity a solution? My Hypothesis: What I believe will happen is that if the temperature of the solution is increased then the conductivity will also increase. I will test this by using a solution that is 50% water and 50% Gatorade. I am predicting that as you increase the solution’s temperature more ions will be formed. For conductivity to increase there has to be more ions. I chose this topic because I wanted to expand my knowledge on electrical current and energy. I turned…
HE109 Project Energy Drinks Energy drinks have become increasingly popular in recent years as people rely on them for artificial energy for physical performance and even cognitive function. Manufacturers claim that these drinks improve physical endurance, reaction speed, and even concentration. But is this really true? The main ingredients of these energy drinks are caffeine, sugar, taurine, and glucuronolactone. Companies like Monster and Red Bull state that the stimulating effects of these drinks…

In finding a new strategy one must take the strategic approach to HRM. In the strategic approach to HRM there…
wasn’t used to it so I started off drinking 4 bottles of water a day then I gradually moved up. This goal was important to me because of a couple reasons. One of my reasons is that I am an athlete and being an athlete you get dehydrated a lot and Gatorade in my opinion tires you out and water is that energy you need when you’re tired. Another reason is that it cleans your system out especially when you eat the types of foods that I eat. When I eat something greasy I just drink about 2 bottles of…
“managing profitable customer relations.” * Its primary goal is to create value for customers and capture from customers. 2. Compare and contrast customer needs, wants and demands. Describe the need versus the want for the following products: Gatorade, Nike shoes, and iPod. * A need is a state of felt deprivation and a want is the form a human need takes as shaped by culture and individual personality.…
Lunchroom Waste Reduction Purpose: Of course, the United States produces a lot of trash and waste— 1,600 pounds per person in a year. To put that into perspective, the trash produced by our country in just one year is enough to cover the state of Texas two and a half times, bury over 990,000 football fields in six feet of trash, or line up filled trash trucks all the way to the moon (Bocco). The largest single contributor to trash might surprise some people: it’s food waste. With 33 million…
