bubbles are nice and fart smells good does fart actually smell good? that is an intelligent question that I ponder daily as I lay in my bed looking up at the star studded ceiling. I must continue to peruse this question.
The demonstrations arose as an act of civil disobedience—organized as “Occupy Central with Peace and Love”. Hong Kong citizens are protesting China’s decision to only allow Communist Chinese candidates to run in the city’s elections for the position of chief executive for all future elections. The protest, led by the youth of Hong Kong, opposes the imposing of China’s political will on the Hong Kong government. Despite the use of batons, pepper spray, and tear gas in attempts to stop the protesters and call them to leave occupancy of the area around Central Government Offices, protesters defiantly resisted by wearing goggles, masks, raincoats, and umbrellas to block the police use of pepper spray and tear gas. These student-led protests are seeking to occupy government property therefore shut down the business district in order to force the government and Hong Kong’s chief executive CY Leung to respond to their demands for a democratic government.I think that these protests, if the Hong Kong government can stop it, will only continue. The extent to which these protests have grown in gaining tens of thousands of supporters to join in the effort to demand democracy from the Communist government proves this, and the protests will only expand in scope as more people feel called to action. The demonstrations, having been entirely peaceful and an organized effort by all citizens, was
