Fantasy Story Final
Today’s date is February 19 of 2005. There is a clear sky and it’s good for launching. Hi, my name is Alex and I am about to fly to the moon. I’m only 19. This has been my dream for such a long time. I am traveling with two others to get some different rock samples for some studies. I didn't know the others that I was riding with but I knew their names were Rob and Jack and they are both about 25. Jack is more of the mechanic and the pilot. Rob is the captain and he communicates. I am only riding to help them on the rocket and with the mission. I got into the rocket and tightened my safety straps. Everyone was ready for us to launch. We were taking off in 3, 2, 1, and blast off. I looked over at Rob who was more experienced at this and he was saying that the rocket made a different noise while taking off than it should. Jack was nodding in approval. He was just as experienced as Rob was. The rocket stopped making the different noise and it ended up all fine so they just went along with it. We were cheering that it was a successful takeoff. We just waited for a while as we gradually went up toward the cold, dark, and lonely vacuum of space, this is how my sister described it and she didn't want me to leave because she was afraid. We were just passing the top of the atmosphere of Earth. I was purely amazed by outer space. It was better than I imagined. I just looked out the window for a long time. We made a big mistake by not paying attention to the satellite equipment as much as we should’ve. I was bored because it took days for us to get to the moon. Time passed as we were talking and it had been a very long and the moon was supposed to be almost near us. Jack looked at the radar and he had a nervous face. “Jack what’s wrong”, I asked. He said the radar had messed up and the rocket had gone the wrong way, he also said that we were way off track. I was scared after he said that. We were not relaxed, but at least we still had communication with the people down at Earth. The people on the ground also noticed us going the wrong way.
We were trying to steer the rocket but nothing worked. Rob went to the other end of the rocket, and did something after opening a tiny door with some wires. I couldn't clearly see what he was doing. I asked him what he was doing and he responded to me with “I’m seeing if any of the rockets navigational or boosting connections are broken or loose.” He just closed the door and went back to the front. He tried moving the rocket in another direction, but nothing worked. I gasped; in front of us was a colossal multi-colored tunnel. I recognized it, but I knew it was a myth of science.
I heard Rob yelling commands at me. The rocket was moving to the side when Jack was trying to move the rocket away from the time warp. Suddenly, we were going at a lot faster speed. Everything went white and I couldn't hear anything. I saw many colors and there was a loud whirring sound. I feel the rocket shaking and vibrating under my feet hard enough to knock me over just before we suddenly stopped with a big thud. I stood up and I noticed that our rocket had probably crash landed. We all put on our space gear and we slowly opened the doors. Rob was the first to look out and all I heard was “Whoa, where are we.” I hurried over and peeked outside and all I could see was a big dark orange wasteland. It was nearly brown. I thought I would float down to the ground by jumping like I've seen when people landed somewhere that had low gravity. I leaped forward but just to find myself toppling down the stairs of the rocket and hitting the surface of the unknown planet. My impact was pretty hard and my space helmet cracked and made a hole that was big enough for everyone to see. Rob gasped while I nearly had a heart attack. A few seconds later I realized to my surprise that I wasn't frozen and that I could breathe. Everyone was amazed that this planet was kind of like Earth by having the same gravity level
