Evaluation Essay The subject being discussed is the depiction of the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins and its adaptation into a screenplay by Collins and Gary Ross. Although the first film, Hunger Games, was exciting and fun to watch, the adaptation seemed to leave out many parts. Not having the insight of the protagonist and leaving out some character interactions, as a book would, can change the way the viewer interprets and understands a film. It seems very common to leave out several seemingly insignificant parts when adapting a book to a screenplay, but there is an element that cannot be recreated; insight. When the viewer is able to know exactly how the character is feeling and why they make the choices they do, it is difficult to convey those onto the big screen. That insight is why so many books have readers glued to the pages. Without that insight, the viewer is left asking many questions. . For example, in the film, there is no explanation as to why Katniss appears to be so hardened from emotion. In the book, we see that she has had a traumatic childhood and had to take care of her younger sister because their mother became emotionally unavailable after her husband was murdered. (Collins, 2008) The book gives her point of view and how she felt during all that time. As a viewer of the film only, you may be left wondering why she acts so tough and emotionless at times. Also, leaving out certain interactions between characters, or certain pieces of dialogue in the film, a reader may not be able to fully develop their thoughts about those characters. There are many examples of this

Checkpoint:Evaluation and Judgement When we evaluate people we tend to evaluate them on their appearance. How they look or what they are wearing. It is something that i think everyone does. We can really evaluate a person by having some sort of conversation with them. Having a conversation with a person can exactly give us sense of what kind of person they are, rather they are family orientated, have morals or values. We will be able to voice our opinion but that may change…

other people? When it comes to the evaluation that we have done on people we expect them to act a certain way. For example when you see someone who is in a business suit, and very intelligently spoken. You expect him to be a professional and to act in a very civil and professional manner. When this does not happen the way we expect we as individuals are thrown back and question what we were judging on. This is hard since we base so much around us on that evaluation. Let me admit that the professionally…
