As the demand of high quality protein increases with the increasing income level of Malaysian, many aquaculture systems have been established to suit the demand (Department of Statistic Malaysia, 2017; Teh, 2012). However, most of the aquaculture systems have the potential in causing disruption of the environment and required intensive land use as they are practiced in brackish water, coastal areas, earthen ponds, lakes, ex-mining pools and so on (FAO, 2008).
As a comparison to the conventional aquaculture practices in Malaysia, this project aimed to introduce a new way of aquaculture system which can be set up in urban area of Malaysia. The target site of this project is located at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and the culture system uses transparent tanks to resemble the walls of a building where the inner unoccupied area of the building can be served as office, restaurant or even home.
