I work for Bupa Care Home as a care assistant, I began my employment on 19 April 2012 as a bank worker. On 5 October 2012 I started my contract which is for 24 hours per week.
My base is Broad Oak Manor Nursing Home but I may be required to work at other Bupa locations in the area. My rate of pay is £6.21 per hour and I receive this monthly, I also receive 135 hours paid holidays per year. The company does not operate a pension scheme.
My main responsibilities as a care assistant are to assist service users in personal care including washing, bathing, dressing and toilet needs. To assist in the cleaning of the Home as the need arises, particularly dining areas after meals and to support infection control e.g. cleaning up spills immediately.
To respect the rights of service users including privacy and dignity. To assist in the serving and clearing of meals, snacks and drinks. To assist service users to eat and drink, monitoring intake and reporting any concerns to the Nurse in Charge. To
