Abstract
Bipolar disorder is a condition in which people go back and forth between periods of a very good or irritable mood and depression. The "mood swings" between mania and depression can be very quick. There is no clear cause for the manic or depressive episodes but there are certain triggers that may cause a manic episode for people that have bipolar disorder. Life changes such as childbirth, Medications such as antidepressants or steroids, Periods of sleeplessness, and Recreational drug use are triggers for people with bipolar disorder. Ways a person can identify bipolar people is by the symptoms which are: someone getting easily distracted, little need for sleep, poor judgment, poor temper control, and reckless behavior and lack of self-control. A way to test whether you have bipolar disorder is by talking to your family, ask questions such as whether anyone has or had bipolar disorder in your family, also, Ask about your recent mood swings and for how long you've had them. This type of information can help you know if you have a bipolar disorder or the chances of you getting them. If you have a bipolar disorder treatments can be done such as avoiding from moving to one phase to another, avoiding the need for a hospital stay, preventing self-injury and suicide, and lastly try to make the episodes less frequent and severe. This type of method can help you manage your bipolar disorder and help you live more of a normal life. The information I provided is correct because I got them from Medical New Today which is a good source when searching up this type of information.
