Education ­­­–a life giving aspect

What is education? Education in general, is a form of learning in which the knowledge, skills, and habits of people are transferred from one generation to the next through teaching. Education is the identity of a person in a society. Although rights of education have been formed by government and it is compulsory for children, there are many parents who don’t send their children to school. In India, the reason I found was due to not having enough funds to meet their child’s requirements. Due to poverty, parents forced their child to work as a servant at many places. There are many places in India where children are working in factories like production of fire work, chemicals, drugs etc. which is very hazardous. Here they have to work in dingy cells without light and air and the outcome is that they end up losing their eye sight and inviting new disease and carrying it throughout their life. The actual meaning which I want to convey is some or the other way related to this condition.

G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) quote states that “Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another.” I truly believe in this statement as I applied it in my life and did something good for others. The example illustrates that Chesterton’s statement is related to my own life. When I was in high school, my friends and I were on the way to school. There we found a group of people beating to some poor children who were wearing torn clothes. For me it had became an important task to know the reason for this situation. When I came to know I was totally stunned. The reason was that they tried to steal books from one of the shop. But what were the circumstances that forced them to do so? The answer which they gave was unexpected. One boy from that group told me that “we want to study and do something in life rather than working at tea stall. But we can’t do anything as we don’t have much money to fulfill our dreams.” This wording touched my heart and it forced me to think about it. But on the other side I was helpless, being alone I can’t do anything and even can’t tell to my parents as I had exhaustive feeling that they might refuse to help them. So the next day I talked to my friends and they also agreed to help those poor guys. We all decided to contribute some money so that we can buy books for them and to personally give them coaching.
