Do you want to know a way to learning more effectively? Nowadays, learning is the key to a successful career. Most students have face-to-face learning in classrooms, but with the developments in science. Online learning is becoming more and more popular. The primary purpose here is to point out the advantage of face-to-face and online learning. In addition, a recommendation to improve English writing for English second language students is given.
There are a number of strengths that promote face-to-face learning. Firstly, face-to-face learning can provide special equipment or resources. A number of subjects, such as chemistry, must use special equipment (Thomas, 2010). Those lessons could not be done online, as students would be unable for afford a lot of the machinery or resources required. Face-to-face learning can provide this equipment and increase the safety of students. Secondly, face-to-face learning can attract the attention of students and inspire students’ ability or solve problems. Students are able to meet teachers and peers which many students require to be motivated (Thomas, 2010). Face-to-Face learning can also help students to feel stress free and give them power to achieve desired outcomes. Through teamwork students are able to naturally learn body language, emotions or expressions (Chamberlin, 2001). It makes students easily know what other people think and increases understanding. It also enhances one’s cooperative ability. Moreover, Face-to-Face learning is the only way some subjects can be taught (Brabazon, 2004). Claims that Teachers must teach students how to read, write notes, understand research, plan all things, and complete draft. It is important for students know these skills. If they do not have these skills they can’t finish school work by them. So face-to-face learning can make students know how to do things and to do what has to be done.
There are a number of strengths that promote online learning. Firstly, online learning can make students know how to control and save time and time is money. Online learning is convenient to save time and is an easy way to communicate (Ellis, 2001). Through using this extra time students can learn more things. They can also control the time to spend more or less time on areas they need or do not need. Secondly, many students are reluctant to communicate with teachers or classmates direct (Chamberlin, 2001). These students are very introverted, and more than often shy. Online learning provides a number of different ways to communicate. They can communication with teachers or classmates in a chat room, by email or on discussion boards (Chamberlin, 2001). This method can make them less shy and learn well. Finally, research has shown that online learning can be more effective in improve students’ achievement than the face-to-face instruction (U.S Department... New Technology, 2009). Achievement is
helper or partner to students. A good teacher displays self confidence when he or she is teaching, as he or she has control of the classroom and the students know who is in charge. Without doubt, a good teacher knows what to teach and how to teach the most impressive knowledge to students. After reading these two articles, I have deeper understanding about good teachers and perfect education in an ideal way. Al-Ghazali lists all rights and responsibilities that he thinks students and teachers should…
Sarah Bensalah EDU-101-01 Personal Educational Philosophy “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” (Nelson Mandela). All my life I have always enjoyed helping people. I have also always had a strong connection with children, mentoring and understanding them. I believe that teaching is all about helping the child perform for their success. I could not think of anything but wanting to work with people on a personal level and actually being able…
relationship between students is vital in a teaching role. In order to identify the learners needs an initial and diagnostic assessment should be taken at the start of the course, to get an overview of the class and student’s individual needs. Students have different needs and some students need extra support in order for them to work to the best of their abilities for example a student applied for the course who suffered from a behaviour disorder (ADHD), I was worried not only for the student but the other…
and learning approaches in education and training. Describe features of inclusive teaching and learning. Inclusive learning is described as students with special educational needs that are incorporated in the classroom. The objective of inclusion is based on the idea that every student has the right to belong and be included in a learning environment. An inclusive approach in teaching helps to ensure students have the chance to learn to the best of there ability. Students then feel a more of a sense…
are designed to calculate a students’ performance in a classroom setting and their intellectual standing point on a particular subject. There have been many debates on whether or not the testing system is an accurate depiction of the success of a student. Students’ minds are cluttered with thoughts about how to increase their chances of getting that “A” instead of thoughts about how much they can learn from the class. Rather than learning about a specific subject, students have learned to cut corners…
Organisation or Education Chelsea Academy a great secondary school but struggles with one of the most important issues that students disagree on. Detentions. I wonder whether Chelsea Academy cares more about their organisation or the education of their students. My point of this argument is that everyone makes mistakes in life including the old and young which we therefore learn about and come to a solution to make sure the issue doesn’t happen again. Don’t we? But why is this information blind…
learning in such a way that it is likely to foster and maximise students’ interest, participation, enthusiasm and motivation to achieve. Utilise external and internal networks and contacts to enhance and broaden the programme delivery to meet the needs of learners. Explore the challenges of curriculum design within a specific subject area. Students There is all kind of students in the world today. Students can be all ages, races, and sexist. Students have the ability to study from home, school, and some students’ even study abroad. Some students don’t study but, instead they cheat. The kinds of students that I am going to discuss are elementary students, middle school, high school students, and college students. Elementary students are students whose ages vary from the ages of four to about ten. The grades are usually kindergarten…
University 02/05/2013 Education should be a part of everyone's life. A good education offers something for everyone, whether it is on the simple level or a more complex one. Education should provide an opportunity for students to develop a strong sense of creativity, a high self esteem, and a lifelong respect for learning. Education should help students establish a strong sense of confidence in themselves. A teacher will be one factor that helps a student learn and progress along their way…
times to use non-authoritarian types as well. I believe that the type of students that a teacher has in his/her classroom determines much of their teaching styles. I prefer seating students in rows rather than a horseshoe. Again, students set the tone for the seating arrangement. This day and time motivation seems to be harder to achieve. The use of homework passes and free time would be used as a form of motivation. Students, young and old, appreciate rewards even if it is only verbal praises.…
