1. Some of the subfields of physical geography include mathematical geography, climatology, geomorphology, biogeography, and soils geography. These are all physical geography subfields which study the environment. The subfields of human geography which studies people are social, economic, historical, cultural, and political geography. Human geography studies peoples activities and their spatial nature. They look at things such as population distributions, cultural patterns, cities and urbanization, natural resource use etc. Physical geography focuses on the processes and features on earth.
3. In a holistic approach to an environmental problem, geographers would consider both the human and natural phenomena that might be contributing to it. For example climatology not only studies regional climates, but also the impact that it might have on humans.
5. Earths four divisions are the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. A change in one atmosphere can cause a change in another. One example is the hydrosphere affecting the lithosphere as water moving in streams, waves, and currents shapes landforms.
