Department of Management Development 1. It definitely seems that there are communication issues with-in this company. The psychologists all just take the jobs as they come up and they have no way of equally distributing the work that is done. One of the doctors may be doing all of the work, but will be getting paid the same amount of money as one of the psychologist that may have had one client in that same time-frame. The same is the case with the secretaries, as we see one of them is fed up because she has no clear idea of what she is to do every day. This company also has some issues with its hierarchy, because we see the new employee come in and basically acts as if she has been there for years. She should not be allowed to turn down jobs like she has been given and all of the lower level jobs should be assigned to her and she really can’t say too much about it because she has no tenure with the company.

2. I feel that having job descriptions is a great benefit to the organization; because it basically gives a blueprint of what the person will be doing while working that position. If he would have had a job description for Sue before she was hired, she would have to do all of the things that are listed and could not complain about them. They also help with delegating the task in a equal manner, so that one person would not get stuck with doing all of the work or just working with the cases that interest them, instead they would have to fulfill their duties to any patient
