Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea. If you have ideas, but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.” — Linda Naiman
Creativity, design and innovation are the root of bringing new ideas to life. Sometimes these terms are used interchangeably, but in reality they are actually different and work together to achieve a goal. Creativity begins the spark which brings on the design to create innovation.
Creativity is the ability to surpass traditional ideas, rules, and patterns to create meaningful new ideas, products, and methods. Today’s innovation can be the secret sauce for a successful business. Creativity should be a vital function in business. Businesses of the world continue to drive a positive change for creating new innovative designs to take their business market to new financial heights. The need and appeal for creativity is increasingly seen as a vital and essential part of any organizations success. George Day, a marketing professor for Wharton College, stated successful companies have innovation prowess-a mix of growth seeking discipline and innovation ability is what distinguishes growth leaders from growth laggards. Growth leaders get ahead of the competition and they stay ahead.
Design can be characterized as the process that connects creativity and innovation. By configuring certain ideas that are constructive and appealing to customers. This interdependency is why design is a dynamic part of innovation. The effective exploitation of concepts in designing requires the use of developing new products and updated services.
