Dear Wall Street Exchange Coordinator: My name is Michael Perrier. I am from London, Ontario Canada. I am a Finance Major in my final semester in the College of Business at Auburn University. Please accept this letter and attached resume as my application to the Wall Street Exchange Program.

Commencing in June I have a position at Bloomberg LP in their Sales and Analytics summer internship program. In speaking with Elissa Felsman at Bloomberg, she informed me of the Wall Street Exchange program. Having reviewed the program’s mandate and curriculum I am very eager to participate in the program for five reasons. I believe participation in your program will:

enhance my understanding of the financial services industry help me master my interviewing skills allow me to meet other like-minded highly motivated students expand my professional network maximize my opportunity for success within the financial services industry

Upon graduation this December, it is my professional objective to work in New York City within the financial services industry. In order to achieve this goal I have been actively networking with individuals in the financial services community to learn how to become part of the industry and how to best prepare myself for success. To date, I have met with individuals from both the investment banking and wealth management disciplines. More notably my networking efforts rewarded me with a 30 minute one-on-one session with Mayor Bloomberg. I assume I made a positive first impression with him as our meeting contributed to me securing a position this summer at his company.

As Finance major at Auburn, I have achieved academic success by combining my intellectual ability with hard work and sacrifice. My overall GPA is currently 3.3/4.0 and my Finance GPA is 4.0/4.0, which has placed me on the Dean’s Academic Honor Roll. This accomplishment reinforced my belief in hard work, discipline and determination.

Given my passion for international finance, I completed the spring 2010 semester at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. In addition to enriching my academic experience, being immersed in another culture enlightened me in many ways. It changed the way I view the world. It opened my eyes to other ways of life, other values and other ways of thinking. My study abroad experience further developed my interpersonal skills and helped me make many new friends from all over the world.

Over the past four years I have had the privilege of participating in the Royal Bank of Canada’s (“RBC”) undergraduate summer internship program, where I held positions as a Client Service Representative, Account Manager, and most recently as an Analyst in RBC’s Commercial Division. Some of my duties included selling financial services such as credit cards, loans, investments and mortgages to individuals.
