• Mood Swings

• The feeling of being overwhelmed
• Substance abuse

Cognitive Effects of
Stress

• When a person is under an acute or large amount of stress it can make the thought process more difficult and may take longer to finish a project. If you are trying to focus and there are may distractions you can experience "freezing" and everything goes blank.
Over learned can also happen when stress interferes with cognitive thinking. To repeatedly do one thing over and over again you learn it so well that you can do it in your sleep. When you are trying to finish a task whether it be homework, art project or anything else set away from all the noise and distractions so that your cognitive thinking process can accomplish what needs to be done without stress.

Effective Strategies that can reduce Stress
• Learn to Relax
• Balance breathing can keep you calm and help people sleep better at night
• Control, Change or Let go of things
• Do not waste time worrying and obsessing • Do not spend time trying to control things that are out of your control
