Cognition and personality development are similar in the essence that they have a timeline of development that shows milestones in the child's growth (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). When somebody is shy, they have a biologically based temperament (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). Shyness is a trait that is passed on by the parents and continues down generations (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). The environment a child is in reflects in their personality and development (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). This is determined by the way adults and other children interact with him/her (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). One way to improve your memory is to put together puzzles and play memory games (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). This helps increase their skills of the cognitive process (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). When children are around adults or people they consider to be a role model, they depict what the adults are doing and renact the behavior (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). If a child does not have a well developed memory, they will become embarressed which creates nervousness in many children (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). Many studies have concludedd that personality is inherited by their parents (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). Once a child starts to interact with their enviroment, their personality starts to grow (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). Between the biological, environmental, and genetic factors, they all have an influence in a person's cognitive process along with their personality development (Frankfort & Schustack, 2012). A trait that parents can pass on is aggression (Schmidt, 2002). A study conducted deciphered that aggression is due to a repeat allele of the DRDE gene (Schmidt, 2002). If a parent has a short temper, then the child can become aggressive (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). When a child inherits stress they become hostile when put in stressful scenarios (Jones, Mesquida, Wiener, 1996). According to evolutionary studies, men feel that power is more important which means they are at a high risk for passing aggression on to the child (Fischer & Mosquera, 2011). One reason men have more aggression than women is because they have a need for dominance (Fischer & Mosquera, 2011). In many cases, unfortunately, children do what the adult does which can be a bad thing (AACAP, 2011). If the children see people hitting walls, yelling, and throwing things, the child will then feel that it is acceptable to do the same things (AACAP, 2011). Video games and movies will encourage these negative behaviors just like the parents do (AACAP, 2011). They look up to the characters in the movies and feel that it is right to do what the people in the movies are doing (AACAP, 2011). The environment plays a major role in behavior (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). The enviroment causes behavior and it is an effect of behavior (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Genetics, enviroment, and evolution all come together to create each individual's personality (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Parents are the key to the development of personality in their child (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). The evolutionary thoery says that the parents are the ones who gives their time, effort, and resources to raise their children (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). The mother has always been considered the primary caregiver who teaches her children and prepares them for the future (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Many girls will practice taking care of dolls as a result of the role they are given (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). When a child is nurtured, the chances of the genes surviving is increased majorly (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). Since children inherit different temperaments, it is important for the parents to be aware of their children's personality traits (Friedman & Schustack, 2012).
