Civil Religion Paragraph

This article is talking about how the religious affairs adviser for President Obama, believes that Civil Religion needs to go away. He was saying that too many politicians are using Civil Religion as a way to gain followers and it is not fair to society. He goes on to say how America needs something like Civil Religion, but not that specifically. This issue is significant because in America Civil Religion is growing each year. The amount of people claiming to belong to a religion is dropping each year. This may be because people believe more in American Civil Religion. Having grown up in America and being taught about the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Rev Martin Luther King Jr., you eventually can become swayed one way or the other into liking America or not. This changes the way people see religion. Saying that America needs to be rid of Civil Religion is an easy thing to say, but try telling people in the South to stop believing so hard in their country, that is not an easy task. I believe that Civil Religion will soon over take the amount of Christians in the US.
