In the town of Columbus junction, Iowa. It’s a small town no doubt it’s just like any other town you have your grocery store, gas station, convenience store, and even a few restaurants. When I lived in Columbus junction it was not very diverse it at all there was a lot of average “run of the mill” workers that usually worked at Tyson food plant. Or they worked at the local schools a town where seeing a black person and even a Hispanic at the time was almost scary. But a few years past and while people came and gone this small little town got a very big diversity while many people didn’t mind the change you had the some and the few that thought this sudden change of a giant Hispanic population was horrible. Instead of seeing all the “white people” own most of the businesses in town many Hispanics started either buying the old business or even making their own businesses in town. I wasn’t used to people just speaking Spanish the only time I heard people speak Spanish was at my grandmothers. Even the school had a hard time with the sudden change of the Hispanic up rise.
The stores went from just having things in English to having them in Spanish as well it was almost like a plaque everywhere you turned they the stores tended to compensate for people who couldn’t speak English or read English. Spanish/Mexican Restaurant started to spread like a virus about once every three months there was New Mexican restaurant was in town. The town that seemed liked your average everyday
