A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen who is a busker and plays guitar for making a living on the street is the No.1 Bestseller in 2012 in the U.K. We can preview this book from the subtitle, How One Man And His Cat Found Hope On The
Street. This is a warmth story that records the normal but lovely life of James and his street cat, Bob.

Their story began dramatically. James was a nomadic musician in London and owned a vulnerable, small, ragged apartment in a dark alley. He found that a cat always lay in front of that old building and thought the cat was as poor and hopeless as him. Therefore he started sharing his few remaining food and milk with the injured cat every day. Also he was reluctant about adopting this poor cat.
Finally sympathy flooded in his heart, he invited the cat to his house and named it
Bob in was a cold and lonely autumn day in 2007. It is exactly the time that James’s life changed significantly. Since then, Bob, the stray cat looking for a warm place to sleep, became the most precious part of James’s life and they lived together as family. James no longer sit and played his guitar on the street alone, he got Bob, the cat which huddled or squinted next to him and even joined in the busking.
More and more citizens became familiar with this bank due to the orange cat and
James started earning more money/. They sang like this for a few years and finally
James’s life changed, he got his real job, selling Big Issue, a newspaper which sold by homeless people to help them het into better life gradually. However the only thing that kept original way is the small body which tags along James. In the spare time, James wrote down their story and contributed it. Surprisingly, this book was snapped up frantically and became the No.1 bestseller after publishing 2 weeks.

Their life does not change a lot. James is still selling the newspaper with Bob and sometimes sing together on the street. Also James and Bob still live in that small apartment. However, now they have enough food and James has a new job, an amateur writer, and continues sharing their story with people.
