STAT 2606 C – Business Statistics I – FALL 2014

Lectures: Lectures: Tuesday and Thursday from 8:35am –9:55am in Southam Hall 416.
Textbook: Business Statistics in Practice, Second Canadian Edition, Bowerman et al.
Computer Labs: 3393 Herzberg Laboratories. Times vary according to your lab section.
Prerequisites: Either (1) MATH 1009 with a grade of C- or better and either an OAC in Algebra and
Geometry or MATH 0107, or (2) BUSI 1703 with a grade of C- or better, or BUSI 1704 and BUSI 1705 with an average grade of C- or better or equivalents.
Assignments: There will be five assignments, each counting equally toward the term mark. Assignments are due prior to the start of class on the assigned due date. No late assignments will be accepted without advance notice and a legitimate, documented reason.
Midterm: There will be a two-hour midterm exam held on Friday, October 17 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Locations and seating arrangements will be announced in class. Students who miss the midterm for a legitimate and documented reason will write an alternate midterm approximately one week after the original midterm. Final Exam: The final exam is a cumulative three hour closed book exam scheduled by the university. The exam period runs from December 10 until December 21 inclusive.

Calculators: During the midterm and final examinations, only non-programmable calculators will be permitted. I reserve the right to disallow any calculator.
