Building an Ethical Organization Part 1
My organization will help to supply support services to children and families going through abuse situations to help them recover or become free of an abusive pattern. We provide services for sexual abuse victims, domestic violence, adolescent substance abuse, teen crisis and intervention and parental alienation. Also, to educate these people further to possibly avoid future conflicts.
Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. Intimate partner violence is often accompanied by emotional abusive and controlling behavior, which is a fraction of a systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence can result in physical injury, psychological trauma, and in severe cases, even death. The devastating consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime. The organizations team is comprised of seasoned clinicians including psychologists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, licensed clinical social workers, licensed clinical social work interns and marriage and family therapists, as well as volunteers. Services are low cost or free of charge depending upon client’s income and ability to pay. We never turn anyone away based on their inability to pay for services. We believe in providing wrap around services to ensure that our clients are getting the level of care and support that they need in every way possible. Our support services are designed to lend special services and needs to our clients while they are going through unfortunate life experiences. Outreach and education is an extremely important priority for my organization. Prevention comes from education and therefore they go hand and hand. Our education programs are designed to reach out to the community and give community members the tools that they need to keep their families safe. Equipping children with safety strategies and skill sets that work to prevent them from putting themselves in harm’s way can be what someday saves their lives. Knowing signs and symptoms of abuse are also very important so that parents can identify potentially harmful situations early and put a stop to anything that could hurt their child. Our education programs are essential in preventing future victimization.
Our Mission statement is we are a non-profit agency, dedicated to helping our community heal from the traumas and cycle of abuse, neglect, violence, and addiction through education, prevention, and treatment services, and advocating for social change. Our mission statement tells the community we will help them heal from unfortunate situations and they will not need to worry about inability to pay for our support services that we care about their emotional health more than profit. Our mission statement supports an ethical system with the statement of dedication to helping our communities heal without concern of profit will inspire the team to have and keep ethical standards while working with clients. The services we provide will require regulations by state and federal guidelines intended to protect the confidentiality and security of all clients. All services that are provided by our shelter are free and confidential for the victims and their children. This will also include a 24 hour hotline, crisis counseling, advocacy outreach, primary prevention, transitional housing, confidential shelter, and supportive services for family members of sexual violence victims.
