A blow-up pool is classified as a “swimming pool” and subject to associated regulations when:

Failure to meet these requirements can result in hefty fines.

• It can be filled with water to a depth of
300mm or more; or
• It holds more than 2000 litres of water; or
• It has a filtration system.

In addition you must register your blow-up pool with the Queensland Government’s pool safety.

If it meets any one of these criteria, you will be required to comply with a number of strict State regulations including installation of a pool fence, obtaining building approval for both the pool and fence before installation and building certification after construction/installation.
