As the most of us are all aware of the mass shooting that has occurred in Connecticut, Newton in Sandy Hook Elementary School. Adam Lanza, the idiotic soul who murdered twenty children and 6 adults. This person had entered the school and went to into a straight ten-minute rampage on students. Adam shot his mother multiple times before going to school with four weapons and a large supply of ammunition. He was later found dead in the building, he had commit suicide. The shooting took place around 9:30AM (local time). Police had then surrounded the school, when the principal and vice principal went to go check on the gunfire noise, only the vice principal had returned, wounded. Parents are panicking; they do not feel safe sending their kids to school. This incident affected lots of families, this person has murdered 20 children, 20 lives, 20 personalities, 20 world changing humans. These children had their whole life ahead of them, why were they punished? This is a world issue because gun control is increasing. The media also criticizes shootings to determine which serial killer has killed more people.
In other articles, there are statistics that are all about which school has the record of the worst mass shooting. “This is claimed to be one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. History.” (Media?) "It's because of the way the media reports it. Turn on the news and see how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single 'victim' of Columbine?” the post attributed to Freeman read in part. A larger ratio may know the name of the mass shooter yet do not know a name of a single child whose life was lost, well at least when the news was released. Media is becoming a major factor, it affects all our beliefs and our view of perception. The media doesn’t show you news, it shows you what they want you to see. Now, the media is exposing young children to the real world and ruining
