FURTHER INFORMATION RELATED TO ASSESSMENT TASKS:
Assessment Criteria:
Assessment 1 – Test (30%) – Learning outcomes 1, 2 and 5 – Week 4
A test will be held in Week 4 of the semester relating to the work completed in the first three weeks of semester. Attendance at the test is compulsory. If a student is absent from the test, a medical certificate will be required. If a medical certificate is provided to justify absence from the test, a student will be permitted to sit an alternative version of the test at an alternative date to be arranged. Otherwise, if a student is absent from the test and no medical certificate is provided, the student will be awarded 0 (zero) out of 20.
The tests are closed book. That is, students will not be permitted to take any books, notes or materials into the venue except for pens, pencil, erasers and non-programmable calculators. Students must take the test in the tutorial group they are enrolled.

Assessment 2 – Case-based assignment (20%) Learning outcomes 1, 2, 4, and 5 – due in week 10.
The case-based assignment is a task requiring students to investigate the management control system of the case study organisation of their choice. Data collection will involve interviews with the case study organisation as well as additional research relating to the topics raised in the case. Further details will be provided during the semester. The assignment is to be completed in groups no larger than four (2). This assignment is an LiWC industry / community project.

The following matters should be given particular attention:
1. Must be typed and properly documented.
2. Should be no greater than the word limit, double-spaced with a 3cm left margin including an abstract/synopsis, introduction, essay body that clearly addresses the problem areas, a conclusion and a properly referenced bibliography.
3. Evidence of extensive research beyond the prescribed text is required. Ensure these are referenced appropriately in your bibliography.
