Car Question- What does the photo say about the relationship between men and machine? How does it do such?
The image of the woman pushing a car illustrates the control that machines have over humanity. It shows a young lady trying to push her car across the grass while there is a dog in the front seat. Cars and other motor vehicles have become a very important and essential aspect of life. However in many circumstances the things that we own (our possessions) end up owning us. Somehow the roles are switched and instead of the car being helpful transporting device we end up transporting the car. The salience of the car in this image helps to express the fact that machines are becoming very important in life to a point where they need and get special attention and care. The use of an old car represents how time is stuck and it is difficult to move forward no matter how hard we try. It shows that we are stuck in the past and are experiencing a tough time when attempting to move on. The lack of care about nature is also portrayed as the use of shallow focus makes the trees and background seem insignificant and forgotten about. Therefore this image has provided many issues that humans face due to the evolvement of machines.

The image of the Syrian Sitting Room Snipers demonstrates the effects that the Syrian insurgent war had on its civilians. The image portrays some young boys in the lounge room of their home ready to attack anyone who wishes to invade. Although the picture set out similarly to a battlefield at war and there is heavy weaponry, the image creates a sense of protectiveness. The man with the sniper has a very serious and skill required job however doesn’t seem like a dangerous man. The homey feeling is conveyed through the use of warm colours as they make the viewer feel comfortable and at ease. The positioning of the audience also helps create a sense of security and protectiveness. As we are viewing it from an eye level shot as well as the fact that all the people in the image have an offer gaze. The young men seem to be defending their home which makes us root for them rather than whomsoever they are opposing.
