INTRODUCTION:
The means of conceiving by ways other than natural intercourse. The injection of semen into the vagina or uterus other than by sexual intercourse.
I. What is AI? A. The injection of semen into the vagina or uterus other than by sexual intercourse. B. Also, procedure used to treat infertility that involves direct insertion of semen into a woman's womb. The sperm could originate from the woman's male partner, unless the male is infertile or there is no male partner (i.e. single woman or persons in same sex relationship).
I.I. History of AI A. It is a process originally used on livestock that has been adapted for human use. B. According to lawlink.nsw.gov.au, Lazaro Spallanzani, an Italian priest and Professor of the University of Pavia succeeded in making a married woman pregnant by artificial insemination in 1785, and that she gave birth to a child as a result.
II. Different types of AI. A. Intrauterine insemination- also known as (IUI) is the most common type of artificial insemination. It involves inserting sperm, either from a partner or donor, into the uterus with a catheter. The procedure is generally painless and takes only a few minutes. B.Intratubal insemination- Also known as (ITI) involves inserting sperm into the fallopian tubes; Involves making an incision into the abdomen. A camera is placed into the incision to find the precise location of the fallopian tubes; once the tubes are located, sperm is placed inside the tubes with a catheter. C. Intravaginal insemination- Also known as (IVI) is the least common artificial insemination form. This type of insemination is the least invasive of the four types and can be performed by the individual themselves. Partner or donor sperm is simply taken up by a syringe from a container and then inserted into the vagina. It is a good option for couples who may have problems with ejaculation during intercourse. D. In Vitro Fertilization- Also known as IVF is a process by which an egg is fertilized by sperm outside the body
III. Costs A. ICI- typically costs between $200 and $350- 5% - 30% success rate B. IUI- $300-$700 per treatment. With the cost of ultrasounds and fertility medication added in the price can go up to $1500-$4000 per treatment. - 5-20% success rate C. IVI- costs per cycle could rise to $300 to $400. - 10% success rate D. IVF- average cost of an IVF cycle in the U.S. is $12,400- 30 to 35% for women
change in the appearance of the Goddess determines the change in the fate of his family. On learning that the unmarried Babli is pregnant, he begins to pray to Kali_Mata at nights. love and affection that is provided for most children will not be the same due to the fact that the clone is considered to be more of an experiment rather than a child. Another argument may be that artificial insemination has already taken the step of engineering babies. However, artificial insemination is used for parents who cannot have children but feel they could provide a loving environment for them.…

benefits in terms of science and medicine while in the second part, Brian will go over the ethical, legal and moral implications to human cloning. Three Major Types of Human Cloning 1. Embryo cloning (a.k.a. artificial twinning): • Embryo cloning might be more accurately called "artificial twinning", because it simulates the mechanism by which twins naturally develop. • It has been successfully carried out for years on many species of animals. Some very limited experimentation has been done on…

1978. Then three years later, the first “test-tube baby” in America was born in Norfolk Virginia. Judith explained the IVF process as when the eggs are taken from a woman, and the sperm sample taken from a man, and once combined together in an “artificial environment” (Modell, 1989) the embryo is then placed into the woman’s uterus to form into a natural child birth. Judith mentions that from her observations, the morale of the clinic along with its organization of the program, seemed to have a…
Deciding to stand a horse at stud brings numerous inherent responsibilities to the stallion owner, so why does the Appaloosa Horse Club add to these responsibilities by requiring an annual Stallion Breeding Report to be filed? Prior to your stallion's resulting foals being eligible for registration, the ApHC requires stallion owners to provide the ApHC with documentation of all breedings. The Stallion Breeding Report is the stallion owner's method of recording and reporting all mares that were…
