In the magazine the cover featured an elaborate illustration of Hitler playing “his hymn of hate in a desecrated cathedral while victims dangle on a St. Catherine’s wheel the image was produced by Baron Rudolph Charles von Ripper was a Catholic that fled Hitler’s Germany. The second image was of an arresting image of a Vietcong prisoner being taken prisoner by American forces during the Vietnam War. Photography and news coverage like this helped to turn the American public against the Vietnam War. The image was taken by Paul Schutzers.
The time image was produced by Austrian-born Baron Rudolph Carl von Ripper was a Surrealist artist of frescoes, oil paintings and drawings, best known for anti-Nazi sketching of the 1930s. Von Ripper was also Catholic who had fled Hitler's dominion and became known to be a courageous soldier of fortune that was wounded many times while serving in the French Foreign Legion. He has designed this image because he was personally involved with the war.
Paul Schutzers was an award-winning photojournalist for Life magazine, famous for his "The Blunt Reality of the War in Vietnam" cover photo. He died on assignment while embedded with Israeli troops on the first day of the Six-Day War. He was born: 1930 LIFE photographer Paul Schutzer died in the Middle East on June 5, 1967, at the age of 37.
During both of the images war was intruding into many lives this caused new productions of different covers and caused a controversy. In photo 1 Hitler is at the his peak just winning he man of the year.in the Vietnam image at the time there was much cruelty being shoved at the Vietnamese racism and prejudice alike. This image turned many American citizens against the Vietnam War.
