The practice of moving back and forth between languages is called code-switching. The article ‘Good Grammar Gets the Girl’ by Elissa Englund shows how improper English prevents you from acquiring social attire Also, the article ‘My Goldfish Name is Scaley’: There’s Nothing to Correct”, by Rebecca Wheeler, tries to prove that education should not be perfect if you are able to understand each other, relating to the fact that we are able to code-switch helps us understand each other even more socially and communally. Lastly, the article “The Pleasures of the Text”, by Charles McGrath, states that language we have created in the online world that makes us more antisocial than socially active. All three articles prove that if a student can understand code-switching then he is able to overcome the standard English language. If a person such as a high school student is able to code switch then I disagree that high school students should follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. One reason that code-switching is a perfect objective to use when speaking to people is that anybody is able to comprehend and perfect it. For example, “The Pleasures of the Text” by Charles McGrath, states “-acronyms like ubiquitous “lol”, for (laughing out loud), constitute the language of text messaging or text msg, to use the term that txt msg prefer” (2) This proves that if we are able to understand the abbreviations, you distinguish those messages from your normal English language by code-switching. This means high school students should not follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. To further prove this, the article ‘My goldfish Name is Scaley’ :There’s Nothing to Correct” by Rebecca Wheeler, states that “Research and experiences show code-switching and contrastive analysis work” (61), this verifies that students are able to code switch and perform basic English grammar, writing speaking and are able to return to a different dialect or language. If a person such as a high school student is able to code switch then high school students should not follow the conventions of standard written English in all text messages, emails, and online conversations. On the counterclaim some people may believe that code-switching is not educational when writing or speaking English. This is a weak argument because it restrains you from

Not only in Canada but in almost all of the western countries can we see the convention of giving tips to waiters and waitresses. Those people who offer services maintain that they can take the money from the customers as a matter of course. So do some citizens think so. However, this custom is, with no doubt, totally an inappropriate behavior which should definitely be banned since waiters do not really need tips and those tips, in some certain circumstances, can cause some serious problems. First…
