"Bach, Johann Sebastian." Harvard Biographical Dictionary of Music (1996): 36. Biography Reference Center. Web. Summary: This article talks about Bach's career as a composer and musician in the 7100's. It covers his accomplishments during his rise to fame. It also features nearly all of Bach's musical compositions. The length of the article is about a page long. The article offers a detailed view into the life of Johann Sebastian Bach. Assessment: This source was very useful compared to the other sources. It offered more significant details than my other sources. The information is reliable because it is written by Harvard University, a trustworthy source. The source is not biased or objective in any way. The goal of this article is to teach readers about the life of Johann Sebastian Bach and his many life accomplishments. This helpful source is accessible to high school readers because it is located on our schools library homepage. Reflection: This article will provide me with reliable concrete details that I can use later on. It also provides many categorized samples of his works which can use accordingly. I can use the facts from this source in any part of my culture hero project. I have learned some key information to my knowledge about Bach. Some examples are that he was the youngest of four children, excelled in singing and often worked with the church when creating his music.

Summary: This article lists accomplishments throughout Bach’s life and how prevalent his music is in today’s society. His style of music and audience is also discussed. It covers his early life and his journey into becoming well known in Europe. The length of the article is about a page long. This article has helped me because it’s written in a way that is easy for me to understand. Assessment: This source is very useful. Compared to the other sources, it is more simplified and easier to read. The information is reliable because it is written by a well know author. Although it notes that his organ compositions are some of the greatest ever composed, the source is otherwise not biased. The goal of this source is to inform its readers of the achievements in Bach’s life. This helpful because it is available to students through the MCHS library homepage. Reflection: This article gives me useful points I can use when listing Bach’s musical achievements. It also mentions the classical traits of his music. It will be helpful when creating my Product-Oriented Journal Entries since it talks about Bach’s early life as well as later in his career. It also mentions some of his more famous works. This article has helped me learn more about Bach's childhood and career.
