I am reading George Orwell's Animal farm. The entire book stands for and represents the russian revolution. During the russian revolution the last emperor Tsar Nicholas the second was overthrown and Joseph Stalin rose to power. The book is a perfect portrayal of the revolution at which these events took place. I believe that his purpose for writing this book was to give people a different perspective on the Russian revolution and what happened.
Giving the animals qualities and characteristics that matched up with important people during this time. Animal farm is about, Manor farm which in perspective to the Russian Revolution stands for
Russia as a country. As the book goes on the farmer Mr.Jones, who runs the farm leaves his animals to live in hunger and want,which is how Tsar treated his people. The book opens up to old major, a elder boar, who represents the principles of animalism, speaking to the animals. As the story goes on the three main pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer who represent the dominant figures in russia at the time, who support animalism get together with the other animals to make a plan. They all plan to run Mr.Jones out of his farm, and one night they do. They get Mr.Jones and his help to flee the farm. With the animals running the farm it is renamed Animal farm and animalism begins. There is no more starving and living in want, they run the farm completely different than Mr.Jones. There comes a time when Mr.Jones however tries to regain power and they called this the Cowshed. on page (67) Napoleons dog then runs Snowball off the farm. Napoleon takes charge and he is now in command, he makes them build him a windmill. The windmill eventually collapses twice and in all of this
Napoleon is becoming more human like. With changing the name back to Manor farm he starts ruling exactly how things were before with Mr.Jones and his no food and leaving his people in want.

I believe that the tone of the book is informative yet stern. He is setting an example and comparing an animal farm to the Russian revolution. He does this in an informative way to show the events that took place during this time but to also captivate the reader into reading the story. When it states
"The animals were happy as they had never conceived it possible to be. Every mouthful of food was an acute positive pleasure, now that it was truly their own food, produced by themselves and for themselves, not doled out to them by a grudging master." pg. (24) This is a perfect quote to show the meaning behind the overthrow of Tsar and the ruling of Napoleon. When Napoleon had taken rule he had shown the people that he was going to treat them better. Instead of leaving them with no food and to starve Napoleon was going to feed them. Another quote to show an informative tone is, "Napoleon is always right." pg. ( 48) this quote shows how it started to change
