Grendel’s mom’s thoughts from her point of view during Grendel’s first encounter with humans on pages 26 to 29. Grendel’s mom as she paces anxiously back and forth across her dark cave. “Where is he? He has never been gone for so long before. It’s getting dark I should go look.” She exits the cave in a hurry knocking things over as she clumsily sped towards the door. The moment she left the cave she heard a great howl, one that could only have come from her son. “He’s in trouble,” the pounding of her heart could be heard from a mile away. She swallowed an immense amount of air and released a shriek so deafening it froze the hearts of men in every living mead hall and froze all life in the surrounding forests. Whatever she said came out as a frightening moan that no creature could understand. “I’m coming Grendel, run away if you can,” she moaned causing the men to scatter in fear of the source of these blood curdling sounds. “Are you OK son, are you hurt?” Grendel laid limply on the ground having fallen from a tree. “You should have listened to me!” Grendel remained motionless. She shook him violently, hugged him and then gave up. She started to drag him back to their den. She cared him through the night, never leaving his side until he regained consciousness. “Grendel what were you doing out there talking to men, they are only violent!” Grendel starred back blankly being as he only heard mumbles and groans with no logical connection between them. She yelled louder
crawled up in a ball, fist and feet hitting me from every angle, the only thought in my mind was, “Where the f%#@ are the coaches to break this s@#& up?!” I looked over and saw my best friend getting jumped for a fight I started, and my emotions ran wild. Somehow, I found strength to escape the pile because I knew the girls would follow me and they’d leave Raven alone. “Get to your locker. Get to your locker!” was the only thought on my mind. I got to my locker and opened it as fast as possible. My…

types of programs have started to be funded by the government. At risk mothers and young children should be recommended to these programs with little to no cost so that our country can decrease crime rates in at –risk populations. The problem of violence and crime can be related to biology and the nine months that it takes for a women’s body to develop a baby. A developing fetus needs a lot of care and nurturing. A mother who abuses drugs, smokes, or consumes alcohol while pregnant can cause damage…

argue either in favor of the proposition that Wal-Mart is good for America, or against the proposition. The great Aristotle said: “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it”. After hearing the quote, I started thinking about different ideas, letting the thoughts roam in my head, and actually considering them without immediately discarding them. I have learned not to accept a concept just because it sounded interesting or because the idea was introduced…
pistol. Do you see this sort of thing happening in your own world? Typically not, when we think of gangs in urban areas we do not usually associate ourselves as being affected or being associated. Gangs have been in the United States since the early 1800’s whereas they once were typically blood related family taking care of the need of one another, to becoming mindless, rampant puppets who have become radical and publically violent, who are discarded depending on ranks and profit. Paul Grenada says in…
