Revolutionary Time Period Speech Ladies and gentlemen, you have been summoned here today to explore your options with me as I explore mine aloud. We, as colonies, have all been beaten down, abused, and mistreated by the mother country. As a unified group of individuals this may be our only opportunity to take what is rightfully ours. Ladies and gentlemen, these are my personal preferences I will be speaking, do not be insulted as I speak my mind, just listen to me with an open ear. The tyranny that we have all been undergoing since the first voyage to this land is overwhelming. We all want to shut our eyes and ignore the fact that we desire freedom, but what good will that do? If we all shut our mouths, eyes, and mind what will take place in this country while we are asleep? Only more destruction. Let us not remain blind and oblivious any longer. Help me and others do what is right and bring justice back to this land. I also ask is that if you are planning on participating on either side of this issue, make sure you are properly informed, and not asleep. The only light that guides me through the darkness of this time is my light of knowledge. I do not say I am more intelligent than any of you fine citizens. Only that I have studied this subject until the day turns into night, and then into another day. So much that the pages from books I have read have left my fingertips raw. The light guides me to the door of past experiences, and other gentlemen who have given this speech before me. They all agree that the only way for this country to every truly be happy is by independence. The great Patrick Henry said in his speech not long ago that “There is no longer any room for hope, if we wish to be free... We must fight!” I agree. We cannot just sit like ducks in a pond and wait for someone to throw bread; we must go and fight for our bread, fight for our rights and freedom. I understand everyone's doubtful, worried, and uneasy. I know that it is a risk. I know that some people would simply like peace. I also know that's not simple, we have been trying to make peace for years and nothing in our favor has ever occurred. We have begged like dogs, whined
Both the American and French Revolutions were focused around liberty and equality. Both countries were trying to gain freedom. America was trying to gain freedom from the rules and taxes put upon them by Great Britain. Whereas the French wanted to abolish the French monarchy and create a better government in which the people could have more of a say in society. Although the revolutions of both started for very similar reasons, and both countries fought for the same thing, the outcomes of the two…

significant because in America Civil Religion is growing each year. The amount of people claiming to belong to a religion is dropping each year. This may be because people believe more in American Civil Religion. Having grown up in America and being taught about the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Rev Martin Luther King Jr., you eventually can become swayed one way or the other into liking America or not. This changes the way people see religion. Saying that America needs to be rid…
influential member of the Civil Rights movement. Up until his death, he has been seen as the frontrunner for American justice and advocate for African American Civil Rights. Although initially seen as a more radical figure, Malcolm X’s views began to align with a more peaceful and less political vision of how equality could be achieved for African Americans. It was clear that Malcolm X and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had differences that were inconsolable. As seen in source A, a speech from Malcolm…
