Graduation is the ceremony of conferring degrees or diplomas. When graduating most often do people think of the graduation of high school or college. When graduating high school it is a student’s biggest accomplishment of their life so far. What person has the ranking or responsibility to determine whether a student gets to graduate or not? In today’s society students must pass all standard curriculum test in order to receive a diploma. There are benefits and let downs in this situation across schools. Ever since kids were put in school, testing became second nature. Every year from elementary school all the way to high school, student’s are required to take a test that evaluates the progression of their learning abilities in order to move on to the next grade level. More so in high schools do grades also set back the student. When becoming a freshman in high school, factors of requirements are made in order to graduate. Requirements set to graduate are such as: passing all of AIMS Test, passing all required classes and passing all required credits by the end of senior year. In these requirements passing the AIMS Test seems to be crucial and people argue whether or not it should be a requirement in order to graduate. Students are given time to prepare themselves as best as they can to pass this required test. Teachers prepare in class; teachers have after class tutoring sessions and students can take it upon them selves to study and prepare to pass. The only thing setting some students back from passing the test are each person’s ability to learn. Everyone one is born with their own state of mind. Some are fortunate to be excellent in school and it comes very easily to them; where other students may have a slower learning process and school can be their greatest set back. When told to everyone student that passing a standardize state test to graduate is required not everyone is capable of taking the test. Standardize state testing should not be required in order to receive a

Puritanism Today In a speech to the Puritans in 1630, John Winthrop stated, “we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a Hill, (and that) the eyes of all people are upon us” (Finely N.P.). *This very famous quote from John Winthrop, a famous Puritan leader, shows that the Puritans wanted to be looked up to and idolized, which is exactly what they got. When they first came over to America from Europe, they simply wanted to worship as they pleased. In fact, their view of future America was a religiously…
I think the United State of America is heading to the same fate as the Roman. First, the election spend were expensive at the Roman Replulic election and it was one of the reason that they fall. Today the American election is costing too much money which is just smiliar to the same thing the Romans politican went through. Second, one of the fastest way at the Roman Republic to get rich is to hold a public office. In contrast to the American Republic politican these days start their election poor…
Explain why the issue you have studied continues to be important today. The issues we have studied and that I am going to explore; are the impact that American Foreign Policy has had on Islamic fundamentalism and why fundamentalists have resorted to terrorism. with Puritans today People who voice their beliefs and knowledge in hope that people will listen and follow their beliefs as well. My question would be, “How much is today’s society influenced by Puritan beliefs?” Marriage was taken very serious by the Puritans, and today some people still view as the ultimate unity and companionship. Education is another aspect of the Puritans still alive today. They believed that spiritual gain was more important than the monitories. In today society we still…
Tierra Robinson Mrs. Johnson English 102 30 January 2013 Diversity in America Never before in history has a society been as diverse as the U.S. is today. Never before have so many different people, beliefs and values been integrated into a single culture. Some say that America is actually less diverse than it was a century ago. The main reason America is less diverse today than it was at the turn of the century is because of all the crisscrossing that has occurred in the intervening generations…
For example, NATO still exists today. Their numbers have grown, however, from the original 12 countries that formed the alliance in 1949 to 29 today, and they work to “guarantee the freedom and security of its members through political and military means”, according to their website. Also, many of the advancements in technology that were made during the Cold War can still be seen in society today; people use many different methods to keep themselves safe on the…
