In the last couple decades we have come a long way with Technology especially in the medical field. With these dramatic increases with computers that have improved the imaging analysis have allowed the development of powerful computer-assisted approaches to radiology today. We have seen new developments within the medical field with new technology, they have helped discover new diseases, and found many cures for different diseases and sicknesses. I will show you what this new technology has done for the world today.

Optical imaging
What is Optical imaging? This is a computerized non-invasive look inside your body, just like an x-ray. But, unlike an x-ray which uses radiation, the new optical imaging system uses visible light and photon to obtain detailed images or the bodies’ organs and tissues; it will show anything that is not ordinary. The images are used by scientists in the laboratory and or by clinicians or physicians to help give a more definite diagnosis and treatments.

Advantages of optical imaging
What are some advantages of optical imaging? It offers a lot of different images that take advantages over the radiological imaging. Optical imaging significantly reduces the patient’s exposure to radiation. When using the new optical imaging you are using non-ionizing radiation to include visible, ultraviolet, and infrared light; these lights generate images by electrons that do not cause any damage that will occur when using radiation. It is also a great tool to visualize soft tissues. You can easily distinguish one tissue from another due to the way that tissues absorb light. Optical imaging can also be used with different types of imaging like, MRI’S or x-rays it enhances the information for the physician to see and monitor any type of diseases or experiments. Optical imaging also takes advantages of the different colors of the light to get a better sight and measurements with different properties of an organ or tissue at the same time.

Imaging techniques
Imaging techniques are very limited to just one or two measurements. With Optical imaging it gives a wide variety of different techniques that use light to obtain different types of images from inside the body. There are many different type of imaging with optical imaging for example endoscopy. Endoscopies is a tiny tube like imaging to go down the mouth to see digestive cavity sometimes it’s used in robotic surgeries that allows a physician to see what is going on without having to do a full out surgery.
