An abortion is a procedure that is used to end unwanted pregnancies. Abortions happen way too often in the United States. Approximately one- fifth of the 6.4 million pregnancies the happen annually in the United States end in abortion. I am totally against abortion and believe at no cost should you have in your mind that you would even want to get one. One, abortion is unethical religiously and immoral. It takes away from gods plans and affects the life of everyone around you. Two, there are more ethical and prolife methods besides abortions to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. There are other alternatives that are safer and will give the baby a chance at life. Three, abortions don’t just take the life of helpless embryo or fetus; it psychologically and physically damages your body as well. . There are medical conditions and complications that your body can go through with the procedure involved with an abortion. A baby is innocent and did not ask to be conceived. Bottom line is that abortion is a hasty and irrational decision that should be made illegal.
Even though there is no mention of abortion in the Christian Bible, it does states,” thou shalt not kill” (King James Bible, Exodus, 20 vs. 13). It depends on the religion preference to how each religion sees abortions. While some earlier writings say that Christians held different beliefs about abortion, others say that in spite of there being no mention of abortion in the New Testament, they condemned abortion at any point of pregnancy as a sin that would send you to the grave. The Catholic Church teaches that human life must be respected and protected from the moment of conception. The Catholic Church opposes any procedure whose purpose is to destroy or end the life of an embryo or fetus no matter the reason (SPUC 2013). The Protestant church views on abortion may vary depending on if they are conservative or mainline. Conservative Protestants tend to be anti-abortion whereas mainline Protestants lean towards an abortion-rights stance (SPUC 2013). African-American Protestants are much more strongly anti- abortion than white Protestants. The American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A. opposes abortion “as a means of avoiding responsibility for conception, as a primary means of birth control, and without regard for the far-reaching consequences of the act." (National Right to Life Committee. 2012). They do not have an agreement on when the life really begins or if there is a situation that calls for abortion. That is four popular religions that are also anti-abortion. Abortion is playing god even though there are many religions there is only one god. He gives life and he is the only one who is supposed to take it away. Before we came out of our mother’s womb our lives were predestined. Our whole life is already paved out for us. This is god’s plan for our life. Abortions through a monkey wrench in gods plans. What I mean by that is, when a woman has an abortion she is killing a baby that god has plans for. The baby’s path has already been put into play and by having an abortion you have put a road block in that baby’s path. Abortion is an unethical and immoral decision anyone can make when there are other alternatives left out there.
There are a large majority of women who get an abortion that say that they would have carried the

A woman’s right to choose The topic of abortion is and likely will remain highly controversial. It is about a woman’s right to choose vs. the rights of the fetus. In 1973, the case of Roe vs. Wade abortion was made legal without restrictions during the first trimester and legal in the second trimester with the purpose of protecting maternal health. Even still years later we remain divided with most falling into one of the two positions which are pro-choice or pro-life. To understand the viewpoints…
Should Women Have The Right To Have An Abortion? What is abortion? Abortion is a deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. There are many different types of abortions, for example oral or surgical. The oral method is the the Plan B pill, also known as the morning after pill. The morning after pill is the emergency contraceptive pill (not birth control). “It can be used to prevent pregnancies up to five days (120hours)” (http://www.abortionno.org/resources/fastfacts.html). The other method is…
Abortion in America Abortion and Infanticide have long been considered a matter of family planning, population control, and gender selection. The mother and the child’s rights were rarely taken into consideration. According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, surgical abortion (aka suction curettage or vacuum curettage) is the most common type of abortion procedure. These procedures involve using a suction device to remove the contents of a pregnant woman's uterus…
Regulations on Contraception and Abortion Contraception and abortion have been the topics of discussion in the media for over a hundred years now. It is a topic that no one is willing to give up on because of their strong beliefs towards it whether they are proponents or opponents. There were and still are a lot of politics and personal beliefs put into the topic of contraception and abortion. Abortion The issue of abortion holds importance for America today. This policy paper is written to consider changes in the state and/or Federal laws that regulate abortion, and to conceive of a political strategy for putting these changes into place. In the first part of the paper, I look at the current state and Federal laws relevant to abortion, as well as the consequences of the current rules in place. In the second part of the paper, I identify a specific set of policy changes designed to…
Abortion An estimated 1.3 million abortions are performed annually or approximately two and a half abortions every minute (Abortion). In all societies, women have sought to terminate pregnancies for many reasons. Republicans and democrats support either the right to live or the right to decide. The debate whether abortion should be made legal continues to divide republicans and democrats long after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 7-2 decision on Roe v. Wade declaring abortion a “fundamental” right (Roe…
Even though abortion has been legal in this country for 40 years, it still remains a widely debated topic. In the United States over One million babies are aborted every year. Abortion is currently the leading cause of death in the United States.(1) There are several ways to abort a baby, most of which are brutal and unnecessary. Most abortions are done on young mothers who are unfit to mother a child and feel like it is their only option. Abortion is not the only option! There are other alternatives…
Free contraception may prevent abortions In this article, Elizabeth Landau introduces a new form of contraception, an "intrauterine device” or IUD. An IUD is a T-shaped device made of plastic that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. She believes this longer-lasting alternative to condoms and birth control pills to be more effective in helping to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies in women as well as the number of abortions (esp. at no cost.) She uses an example of a study…
where abortion is not an option due to the practice being illegal. Currently, there’s an ongoing debate about if the United States should become the 34th. The government should not be able to make abortions illegal because women have the right to choose whether or not they are fit for parenthood or not. Abortion is defined as the termination of a pregnancy within the first 28 weeks resulting in the death of a fetus. Since early times women have engaged in helping other women to get abortions, often…
Conceiving a baby through a planned pregnancy can take many years or it can take one night of meaningless unprotected sex, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. There are many times when a woman doesn't know she is pregnant until she visits a doctor. Since it is an unplanned pregnancy, it leaves her with a hard unwanted decision to carry on with the pregnancy or to terminate it. Abortion is the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy. If a woman decides to abort her…
